Ryder News for July 9, 2020

Large tree limb broken off from a tree at Gary Hagen’s home in Ryder a week ago in Saturday’s storm.
A little rain fell on Saturday, but lots of wind. Gary Hagen lost a tree limb in that storm and in the Tuesday/Wednesday storm last week, my brother lost a 70 ft. evergreen tree at his rural Ryder home that was uprooted in the Tuesday/Wednesday storm!
Total rainfall at my house from the 2 day storm on Tuesday and Wednesday last week was 4.5 inches.

70 ft. evergreen uprooted at  my brother’s home 4 miles southwest of Ryder during the Tuesday/ Wednesday storm.
I received the following nice message, “Hi Sue. This is Jennifer and Gregg Andreachi. We moved to Ryder two years ago, and have fallen in love with the community. When the opportunity arose to buy the school, we were excited to purchase and restore the historic building. We want to see it respectfully preserved for those who share the memories and for future generations to enjoy. For the time being, we intend on using it as a personal hobby shop after completing some much needed repairs/renovation.”
Thanks for the nice message and we are all so glad that you like our little community and that you have purchased the old school building.

The "REINISCH'S" gathered at Jody and Peggy's cabin at Iglehart Bay for the 4th of July. Those that were able to make it were: Marlys Hanson, Larry and Marsha Reinisch, Tom and Kacee (Reinisch) Miller and Archer, Nick and Danni Reinisch and Boone, Kandi and LaVerne Mikkelson, Penny and Mike Carlson, Josh Reinisch and Brigett and Paisley Savenko, Kelsey and Alex DesRoches, Kallie and Kirby. What a Great Time we all had - Blessed with RAIN too!!!

John and Staci along with Johnny McGrath and their 2 dogs went camping at the camp ground on the edge of Garrison. The weather was dreadfully hot and then on Saturday, the 4th, the fireworks started. They finally had to leave and head back to Minot as their dogs were absolutely terrified and they are OLD dogs. They were afraid they would have a stroke or heart attack from being so scared.

About 1:30 the morning of July 4th I was awakened by flashes of lightning and loud booms of thunder. I thought, “Oh boy, we are in for another round of storms”, but after awhile it all went away and not a drop of rain...just noise!
