Ryder News for Dec. 15, 2016

We are a little short of news for this week! Remember I need your news items so we have a Ryder News Column to read.

Well, after the KX weather person telling us we would only get around an inch of snow Saturday we now have about 4 more inches on the ground. I visited with Staci Sunday evening and she told me that it is really slick around Minot and very little sanding had been done. Well, we have to be in Minot Monday morning for Dr. appointment so hope they take care of it over night. She said she and John had seen numerous accidents in a short period of time on Sunday evening.

Visiting with Santa

Kids working on their craft projects at Santa Day

I attended the functions at the Ryder Community Club/Gym on Saturday as did Staci, John and Johnny. Kenny made it there after dialysis. There were quite a few kids enjoying themselves at the craft tables and Johnny made some cute items to hang on their tree and he also made a reindeer headband to wear. The kids got to sit on Santa’s lap and whisper what they wanted for Christmas and then they each received a little bag of candy. And then it was time for the turkey drawing giveaway. I won a turkey! As a matter of fact, every family that was there received a turkey and the food pantry received the turkeys that weren’t given away.

Due to the snowstorm last week, Kenny didn’t make it to dialysis on Tuesday as we couldn’t see across the yard and there was no travel advised. I had early chemo on Wednesday so we made it in for that but the visibility wasn’t the best. Kenny did manage to get in for dialysis on Thursday. It is starting to look like this is going to actually be a North Dakota winter for a change. I don’t mind the cold but I do hate all this snow!
