Ryder News for May 19, 2016

Well, first of all, I must correct one of the upcoming events that I put in here last week. Ryder’s city-wide rummage sale will be on Saturday, June 4th. I was given the wrong information last week.

Well, it looks like Ryder’s little motorcycle rider, 7 year old Cashtyn Peterson is going to Tigerton, WI in June for the Loretta Lynn’s regional race. He took 3rd in Little Falls, MN for the qualifier.

If you haven't yet, please jump on over to Cashtyn's athlete page on Facebook… Cash Petersen #369…and LIKE it so you can follow his success in the motocross world...He's making his way towards Loretta Lynn’s, which is a huge deal... He's improving every day...every race...His parents say, “We love all of our supporters, sponsors, etc. and are very appreciative of you all!!

The Ryder Historical Society had their annual spring meeting on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the Ryder Community Center with 8 people attending. There was an election of officers with John Warner remaining as President. There is still a need for more board members. Please consider helping as we want to keep the museums going.

There will be Spring Cleaning at the museums on Friday, May 20th beginning at 9 a.m. There is a big need for volunteers so please come even if you can only help an hour or 2. It is just too much for 2-3 people to accomplish. You only need to bring rags and a pail. All cleaning products are provided and there is now hot water.

Faye Karna has been in touch with the Elmer Kotaska family. Since leaving Ryder, Elmer has died but his wife, Alice, still lives in Bismarck and is attempting to complete a summary of their life including their time in Ryder. Thanks to those who called and helped make this connection for the museums records. Things such as these are only successful with the help of you readers.

Ardys and Don Morris are now living at the address that follows as Ardys had a stroke and they moved to the home that can provide her therapy, etc. You may use this to get in touch with them or to let others know their location! 201 14th St. NW, Mandan, ND 58554 Room 611.
