Ryder News for Mar. 5, 2015

I made a mistake when I posted the name of the fellow who was manning the pancake grill for the medical benefit last week. It was David Kimball not Richard. Richard’s wife Judy got quite a chuckle out of it and was teasing him about sneaking out and fixing pancakes.

55 voters entered the doors of the Ryder Senior Center last Tuesday to cast their ballot on the Ward County Jail Bond Issue plus there were 3 absentee ballots. Most of the voters were in favor of passing it and it actually did in fact, pass.

Sitting on election board at Ryder’s Senior Center: L to R: Stephanie Hagen, Alvie Nesson, Judy Haner, Faye Karna, Linda Bergeson.
Not much news on this end. Kenny and I had the privilege of babysitting for our smallest grandson, Levi Sprinkle the other day. He is such a good little guy and even tho, he really doesn’t know us, he didn’t even cry. Kenny had a fun time entertaining him while I took a lot of pictures!

Saturday night Kenny and I also were called into service to watch Johnny while his folks attended an event in Minot. Kenny just stayed in after dialysis and they came out and picked me up. He is such a busy kid and has quite an imagination and sure uses it in various ways…He seems to be pretty good at writing his mom’s initials on his reading assignments and also in writing notes to the teacher and signing (printing) his mother’s name. I guess he had seen her do it and thought he could do it too! It sure is a good thing that she checks his backpack before he leaves. I worry about the checkbook when he gets older!

I will be going to Mayo Clinic shortly to get a 2nd opinion on this cancer that I am going through and hopefully get the help that I need.

Remember there will be Bingo at the Ryder Gym on March 6, 2015 starting at 7 p.m. So come on out and play some bingo, have lunch and visit with friends.

It looks like this is all the news I have for this week, I will probably have one more column before I head to Mayo and then this will have to be put on hold for a short while until I find out what they plan on doing.

Have a great week and remember daylight savings time will be here before you know it…actually Sunday, March 8th so be sure and set those clocks an hour ahead. Spring forward, Fall back.
