This week's Mystery Photo. |
Someone came up with the idea of having a
mystery photo so here it is, it was taken at the old Don Morris home and that’s
where Roger Folden now lives. Let’s see how many readers can identify all those
kids.
We received word that Marlene Afdahl
Borrison of Iowa passed away on Christmas morning. I am sure she is in heaven
celebrating Christmas now with her parents, Lloyd and Margaret Afdahl and her
brother Donald. She was such a nice lady and will be missed by many.
4 generation picture of Donna Haugen’s family: L to R: Duane Haugen, Donna Haugen holding Adira Haugen, Matthew Haugen |
We received a 4-generation picture shared
by Donna (Richard) Haugen. Donna is so proud to be a great-grandmother. Her
son, Duane Haugen was raised on their farm northeast of Ryder and graduated
from North Shore in 1977. Matthew Haugen, son to Duane and Carmen Haugen of
Minot graduated from Minot High as did his grandmother Donna. Matthew and wife,
Cathy, are now living in Minot where their daughter Adira was born. Wouldn’t
Richard have enjoyed this little great-granddaughter? Thanks for sharing,
Donna!
The Larson siblings from L to R: Ronnie Larson, Mike Larson, Byron Larson, Linda Jacobson, Richard Larson is in the front. |
Sharleen Larson and Linda Larson were
visiting several weeks ago and they decided that it would be nice to get
together with the Larson siblings during the holiday season and with a few
telephone calls it was all arranged. What a great way to start the week of
Christmas!
Mike and Jake went to Manor Care and got
Richard. It looks like he enjoyed the
day. Linda is such a good cook and makes chicken just like Grandma (Elizabeth)
Larson used to make. And then there was a birthday cake for the December birthdays…Jake,
Donna, Byron.
Joining Kenny and Sue Bradley for Candle
Light services at St. John’s Lutheran Church on Christmas Eve were John, Staci
and Johnny McGrath. Pastor Galloway grabbed Johnny and asked him if he’d like
to help light the candles. Johnny said yes so away they went. We were a little
afraid he would set the minister’s robe on fire before they got the Advent
candles lit but they made it without a mishap.
Then it was back to our house for pizza and
opening gifts. It was a fun evening.
Since January 2nd is the first
Friday of that month, Bingo will be held at the Ryder school gym starting at 7
p.m.
That’s it for this week; I hope some of my
readers will send me their Christmas happenings so this column can continue.
Send me some pictures too. I can’t use the ones from Face Book as they just
aren’t big enough.
Have a great New Year!
