Ryder News Oct 24, 2019

Ryder News for Oct. 24, 2019

It looks like we lucked out and didn’t get the rain that was forecast for the weekend into Monday of this week. We sure don’t need any more rain with the farmers finally able to get back into some of their fields and try to do some combining. I think there are going to be a lot of crop and hail insurance claims this year!

Shirley Cunningham
Shirley Virginia Cunningham, 75, formerly of Ryder passed away on Oct. 13, 2019 in Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her husband Larry. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Rosehill Cemetery, Ryder, ND. My sympathy goes out to her family and friends.

Donna Haugen, 88, Minot and formerly of Ryder and Roseglen died on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 in a Minot hospital with her loving family at her side. Her Celebration of the Life was Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. in Christ Lutheran Church of Minot with burial in Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot. My sympathy to her family and friends.

Make and Take Crafters and their projects.

A Make and Take Craft Project with Delrae Wohlk, hosted by Mary Simmons and Stephanie Hagen was held the afternoon of Sunday, October 13th in the Ryder Star Bar. Around twenty-five ladies from the Ryder, Minot, South Prairie, Makoti and Plaza areas attended. Light snacks were served and everyone had a fun time.

Rocky Acres 4-H Club members
The Rocky Acres 4-H club met on Sunday with a short meeting and the making of hedgehogs out of pumpkins/gourds. The pumpkins and gourds were grown by the Max FFA, in the community garden. The club consists of Ryder, Douglas, South Prairie and Max families. Their leader is Julie Brandvold. Youth can still join if they would like to be part of a fun learning organization. Contact Julie Brandvold at 701-758-2456 for more information.

John, Staci and Johnny McGrath came out to visit on Saturday and also get their camper winterized and moved.

Remember that there will be no annual bazaar at the turkey drawing this year at the Ryder Community Center, instead it will be a Family Day with crafts for the kids and visiting for adults with the turkey drawing at 3 p.m. on Nov. 16th. But...there will be a mini-bazaar at the Senior Citizens in Ryder from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. also on Nov. 16th.

Well, it looks like this is the end of the news for this week. Have a great week and get your news to me if you want to be famous!!
