Ryder News for Nov. 9, 2017

Not much news for this week, guess everyone was either too busy loving the snow or hating it to do much in the way of news! What did you do this past weekend? Would love to hear about your first snowfall events. Let me know so I can write some fun news to share. As for me, I just looked out the window and watched the snow come down and hating the thought of having to go out in it the rest of the winter! Ugh!

Johnny McGrath as the Hulk (always have to have a picture of the grandson!)
Ethan Hagen waiting patiently in line for his turn at the beanbag toss.

I went to the Halloween party in Makoti along with Johnny and Staci and we left Kenny manning the candy bowl at the house. Johnny was the Hulk this year, lots of kids (only recognized a few of them) this year and tons of cute costumes! I did manage to get  few pictures. We had 5 kids at our house so lots of candy left for me!! After we got home from Makoti, Staci and I took Johnny around town and out to Alderman’s to get some treats.

Bingo for Friday night was cancelled due to the snowy weather. Staci, Kenny and Johnny came out anyway. She said it was kind of a white knuckle trip all the way but Kenny was bringing some pills out for me and I had stuff to send back with him. They didn’t stay long which disappointed Johnny as he likes to play with these blocks that I have. He wanted to take them home with him but I said Levi plays with them too and he wants to take them home too. Grandma is mean as she intends to keep them here!

Staci’s birthday is (was) Nov. 5th. We took her and Johnny out to the Badlands Restaurant to celebrate. I always get the full rack of ribs so I can have lots of leftovers when I go home.

Carol Hansen and Daniel Starks at Minot Health and Rehab.

Daniel Starks had a concert at Minot Health and Rehab recently. He performed the 40's, 50's & 60's music that the residents loved and many enjoyed singing along. He even had his dad, Pastor Jonathan Starks, join with him on a few numbers. It was especially fun to sing for and visit with Carol Hansen who has been a longtime Ryder resident. Daniel will be doing Christmas music on Thursday, November 9 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at Minot's Marketplace Foods on North Hill. So if you're there doing your grocery shopping, be sure to stop by and say "Hi".

How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
