Our sincere sympathy goes out to the family.
October 18 will be Pastor Galloway's last

Pastor Chuck and Jill Galloway, and son,
Joshua went to the Musical in Medora Friday. They also found that his brother,
Jerry and family from Dickinson were there. They got to visit for a few
minutes.

I am including a picture of Henry DeMille
taken in Ryder between 1906/1910 in this news edition. His grandson William
(Bill) Johnson is coming to Ryder on Sept. 10. Does anyone recognize this man?
If so, please contact Faye Karna as she will be visiting with his grandson.
Gus Mueller and Kirby Mueller displaying the official State of North Dakota Centennial Farm Certificate. |
“When life gives you lemons, make lemonade”
is a great adage from Dale Carnegie, Forrest Gump, or someone equally
famous. On August 22nd, the day of the
much advertised and anticipated Mueller Centennial, the North Dakota weather
was a lemon; just about as bad as it possibly could get for an August day—cold,
windy and horizontal rain. So it was
necessary to move all the planned outdoor activities inside, and here is the
lemonade part: The cramped inside accommodations inspired meetings,
conversations and good laughs that probably would not have occurred had all the
attendees been spread across the Mueller farm.
Moreover, it allowed many to focus on the large array of poster board
displays depicting the history of the Mueller’s and Brandt’s (and there was
some Sorenson material too). The big dance that night also was a huge hit,
despite not having the “lake view.” Before the bad weather arrived, on Friday
evening there was an official champagne dedication, attended by family members,
for the unveiling of the Mueller Centennial Plaque. This was followed by
several home movies about the family and the farm, produced and directed by Mueller’s
and Brandt’s. Over 50 Mueller-Brandt
relatives attended the event, many traveling from both the east and west
coasts. The Mueller’s are very grateful to the Ryder Community Club for their assistance
and the 100s of friends from the area who battled the weather to join the
party.
Myrna and Terry Scheer have been visiting
family and friends in and around the area this summer and before heading back
to their home in Arizona, Lorraine Nelson had family members out for an evening
lunch at her home. Those attending were: Ken and Sue Bradley, Don and Karen
Bradley, Jim and Doris Ann Zieman, and of course, Myrna and Terry Scheer. Lois
and Roger Nogosek couldn’t make it that evening.
That’s it for this week. Have a fun and safe
Labor Day weekend!!
