Ryder
News for Sept. 17, 2015
A picture of the quilt made of the Ryder
business places and park has been turned into the museum. The quilt was made in
1981 by the Ryder Busy Bee Homemakers. Do
any of you readers know what happened to that quilt? It is believed one of the members won it in a
drawing. Maybe someday it will reappear and can be displayed in the Ryder
museum. Hope it is not lost! Maybe I can
get a picture of the picture that was turned into the museum and then we will
all know what this quilt looked like.
Kelsey DesRoches and Peggy Reinisch attended
the outdoor Wedding of Levi and Amanda Landphere (Grandson of Kathy Officer)
South of Minot at the Novak Farm on Saturday.
Dick Ludwig had unexpected visitors at his
farm on Sept. 9 when Tom and Mary Jones stopped in. Tom is a nephew of the late
Wayne and Hilja Jones. He ranches at Lander, Wyoming. They were traveling thru
on their way to Bismarck and just wanted to see what the old place looked like
as Tom used to spend summers here with Wayne when he was a kid. They were very
impressed with the way Dick and family were taking care of the place. Dick gave
him some Minneapolis Moline memorabilia that Wayne had left in the Quonset. Tom
is a cousin of Sandra Peterson of Ryder. Dick said they had a nice hour long
visit. Tom gave Dick a little history of the place and shared some stories with
him. They took lots of pictures of the place.
Gary Hagen left here on Saturday to go to
